Father’s day is right around the corner and if you haven’t yet purchased a gift for your loved one, in this post are some last minute gift options for you to consider for the father who wants to be or is active.
The Hyperice Hypervolt Go 2 is a solid gift for the father who likes to work out when he travels but wants to recover fast for his next work out. This is a great tool as you can easily fit this in your travel bag without it taking up so much space for your other items.
I use this model when I run any type of race. I use it before and after my runs, the Hyperirce Hypervolt Go 2 helps me stay ready and increase my mobility and recovery time.
When it comes to personalizing your training experience, understanding your personal heart rate zones is ideal. This is one of the best ways for you to ensure that you are training at the proper dosage for longevity and proper recovery. Understanding your heart rate zones will allow you to have great workouts where you recover efficiently through out the week. This is a great tool to take on runs, at the gym or for your virtual personal training experience. I like this heart rate monitor in particular because, there is a little light on the chest. When you set up your zones, without having to look at your watch and or phone, you can spot the color and know what zone you are training in.
The iPad mini 6 is a great gift for the tech savvy fit dad. I personally use this Ipad every day for work and love how clear the videos are and camera. This is great for virtual personal training sessions with your coach because I noticed that when I train clients who own this device, the camera follows their movement keeping them in frame. So when I am coaching them, if they move off the camera, the sensor will follow that individuals movement slightly which makes a difference when coaching those clients. In addition to virtual training, it is a great tool to watch videos, read and or learn something cool, while on your favorite cardio machine.
These are my favorite headphones to go for long runs, get a good sweat in at the gym and or lounge around at home. I love the way these headphones adjust to my ears and the sound quality is amazing. In addition, when clients use these when training virtually, I noticed that the sound quality is isolated and crystal clear to my ears which makes it more efficient to get quality sessions in. The music quality is great and so is the microphone. You can’t go wrong by gifting these to your husband and or father.
NIKE METCON 9 Mens’s Workout Athletic Sneakers
These particular sneakers I have never worn myself, however, I have a few clients who love these and I trust their judgment. These are great for the father who wants to lift heavy but wont mind getting a 1 mile run during the workout. I appreciate that my clients feel grounded when they use these trainers and have given me the feedback that they are better able to execute kettlebell swings, squats, splits squats, chest presses and more while also being able to handle efficient cardio vascular work during our training.
The Apple Watch Ultra is a staple in my fitness equipment collection, this watch has everything I need to handle work related activities like set reminders, answer phone calls, utilize the stop watch, timers, and more. From a fitness perspective, I love that you are able to track your exercise activities with their proprietary app, and it is so satisfying to close all of your customized activity ring goals through out the day. I’ve set healthy competitions between friends and clients focused on reaching my individual goals and noticed an increase in productivity when doing so. This watch is durable in the event that you bang it on a dumbbell or kettlebell as you are training. Even though you can have your heart rate tracked without a chest strap monitor, it is more powerful when you sync the heart rate monitor to the watch as it will give you a much more accurate heart rate with zero lag issues. This watch is perfect for the fitness enthusiasts and I am very happy to own it myself.
Sleep along with movement and nutrition is very important for a holistic fitness experience. The Oura Ring is a great gift for the busy dad that works out hard, but gets little sleep through out the week. If the Dad in your life wants to have better sleeping habits and learn more information about themselves and how to improve their habits, this is a great tool to be able to support him create awareness. This ring was provided to me by Equinox as a test pilot to see what type of experience I have with it and I think it is well worth the price of the ring and membership because of the quantity of information you get from the product and the awareness it creates. One of my clients was able to understand her calorie usage throughout the day, which allowed her to understand the value of eating more nutrients to support her goal, to me, that knowledge is powerful to impact persons health, stress management and body composition results.
Another tool that can support your sleeping behaviors is the Whoop Bandthat goes around your wrist like a watch. I spent a total of a year and a half wearing a whoop band and truly loved the experience of owning it. This strapped changed the way I look at my sleep habits and also, provided me simply yet effective information for me to make a change in my sleeping behaviors. This is similar yet different from the Oura ring. The information is much more simpler however, my favorite feature was the early morning journal entry that turned into a full report of your monthly sleeping habits. This report truly allowed me to analyze my patterns to improve upon my sleeping habits. In addition, the alarm feature is great as it woke me up with light haptic feedback in addition, the charger charges as you are wearing the whoop band so you do not need to worry about a dead battery.
A Digital Body Weight Scale is a great tool to hold yourself accountable towards your health and wellness goals if you do not have access to a fitness gym or assessment center. What I like about this scale is the integrative app that helps you track your trends over time. You can measure important metrics such as Heart Rate, Body Composition, Subcutaneous Fat, Visceral Fat, Muscle Mass, Bone Mass, Skeletal Muscle, Basil Metabolic Rate, Protein and much more. This gives you so much data about yourself to track and see if your programming and or habits are assisting you towards your outcome goals. Because this scale tracks much more than weight, I consider this to be a win for dads who appreciate tracking important metrics.
